    Vigourous and very handsome tree, I am so glad almands can grow in zone 4!!

    Growing beautifully 😍 The leaves are so strong looking. Even this heatwave 2025 Ontario summer with water care of course didn't stop Whiffletree from growing new growth. Because our bare fruit trees are first season we wanted root growth not fruit. We most likely won't let any of our first season 2026 Whiffletree trees fruit next season either because we are aiming for root growth. We didn't have much Japanese beetle activity on any of our Whiffletree bare roots trees either. This tree had none. We put alfalfa meal in our soil to that helps with those bugs for all our bare root trees.

What is Orchard Grade?

An 'orchard grade' is a tree that may be somewhat shorter, slightly crooked, or a bit scratched, or for some other reason is not a perfect front lawn specimen. These trees will work just as well in an orchard as a first or number one would, since they still produce the very same fruit.
