    My overall rating of Whiffletree as a place to purchase roses and other shrubs and fruit trees is 5 star. That said, I have received a number of plants--primose lilac, snowball viburnum, and William's Pride apple that have decidedly not performed. The apple was easy to identify as problematic, and once I sent in the appropriate information, the folks at Whiffletree gave me a credit (apple tree value) for a future purchase. The shrubs I did not complain about because I did not keep the tags for them -- lesson learned. Also, it is more difficult for me to assess whether the problems lay with the particular plants or my planting. My gut feeling is that the plants were not healthy to begin with. I would love to apply for credit, but without the tags... In any case, I will try for different plants for the coming season.
