First, let's address the inevitable name confusion. This is not the Traviata™ hybrid tea rose by Meilland. Although the rich, deep red blooms are actually very similar, the plant habit is not. This Palatine bred version is a floribunda with clusters of flowers, and is also a much more compact plant. In fact, it is ideally suited for container growing. When the bulbous buds of Palatina Traviata open, they reveal a gorgeous scarlet petal-packed bloom with a lighter reverse. As the blooms age, a subtle touch of satiny blackness enhances the edges of the outer petals. This petite package will add panache to your patio or perennial border.
