The challenge to describe this unique rose was best articulated by one nursery who called it a 'symphony in colours'. It has been expressed thus - '…clusters of brunette buds that swirl open to reveal ruffles washed with orchid pink', and also as '…shades of copper, beige with dusty pink'. When Distant Drums first came out, it was regarded as somewhat of a novelty but eventually became respected and sought after. This is not only for the rare and exquisite colours, but also as a vigorous, healthy, and hardy choice. And because its unusual colour is neither strident nor harsh, Distant Drums blends harmoniously into a perennial border.

What is Orchard Grade?
