All European (regular) and Asian pears will pollinate each other providing their bloom times overlap. Generally you can go by the expected harvest time, meaning only the very early and the very late might not be compatible with each other. However, since Asian pears, on average, bloom earlier than Europeans, you might pair an early European with a mid or late Asian.

I ordered the European Rescue semi dwarf pear in early April. Before ordering I had checked with Whifflebtree staff that this was a good pollination match for Bartlett pear, ans was assured by staff that it was. Was told it would ship April 15, and received it that day. I followed the planting instructions provided on the whiffletree website, which meant pruning the top a bit even if it was only maybe 2 feet. The rootstock seems to be growing nicely, though so far it is just buds, but promising. Price and service were excellent. Thankyou. Colm
