An 'orchard grade' is a tree that may be on the shorter side, may be crooked or with slight damage. These trees will still produce the very same fruit as a first or number 1 will. They may need to be staked and they do need regular watering, fertilizer and protection from weeds and hungry animals. All trees will benefit from pruning.
100 years has given the Polly peach ample time to establish it's reputation as the most cold-hardy white-fleshed variety. ( It was introduced by the University of Iowa in the early 1920's ) Some sources also indicate that it has some peach leaf curl resistance, which is something we cannot verify. Polly's tender, juicy, high quality flesh has rich, sweet flavour. It is known as a late bloomer with reliable yields.
