This attractive plant serves as a compact, but effective, nitrogen fixer, with the unique ability to transfer nitrogen from the air into the soil, where it can be absorbed by the neighboring tree's roots. Colourful columns of deep blue, red, pink, yellow and white stand erect above the frondy, green foliage. Compact, clumping habit with 10-12 flowering stems up to 60cm (24") tall arising from a single base in early summer. Lupins thrive in partial shade making them suitable for food forest or guild settings.
