(Alchemilla mollis)
Here is a beautiful, low, spreading ground cover that prefers partial shade while playing the role of a beneficial insect attractor. It draws in predatory insects such as lacewings, brachoni wasps and syrphid flies that feed on tree pests. They love the nectar in the frothy sprays of tiny greenish-yellow flowers which bloom above the soft, velvety, light green foliage from early summer to early fall. Lady's Mantle also makes a very complimentary underplanting for pink rose bushes. Grows about 25-40 cm (10-16") tall with a 30-60 cm (12-24") spread.
