An 'orchard grade' is a tree that may be on the shorter side, may be crooked or with slight damage. These trees will still produce the very same fruit as a first or number 1 will. They may need to be staked and they do need regular watering, fertilizer and protection from weeds and hungry animals. All trees will benefit from pruning.

It is highly doubtful that the robin is a common bird in New Zealand, where Redd Robin™ was developed, as it is here, but the name fits like a charm! With it's mild, sweet, low acid flavour and juicy, crisp crunchy texture, it has gained a following and is starting to be grown commercially here in North America as well as down under. Home gardeners also appreciate the dependable, productive tree. Storage life is good at 3 months or more. (PremP109 Cv.)
